      Support and Wellbeing

Our low drop-out rates and high satisfaction score in the National Student Survey are testament to the excellent support you can expect at Newcastle. All of our support services are free of charge and available to all students.

How we're keeping you safe in COVID-19

We've made sure you can access all of our support services online in autumn 2020, including:

      • wellbeing
      • finance
      • Careers Service

You'll still be able to access one-to-one counselling sessions, receive online CV support and have virtual finance sessions. You can arrange these when it's convenient for you.

You'll be assigned a personal tutor – normally a member of academic staff – who will support you throughout your time with us.

If you're an undergraduate student, you'll still be allocated a peer mentor before the start of your course too. These mentors will be on hand to help support you as you settle into university life.

We offer a range of services to ensure that you can reach your full potential. Our dedicated Student Services building, King's Gate, is in the heart of campus. Our Student Advice Centre is in the Students' Union.

Our Student Services team offers help, advice and support on a wide range of issues. King's Gate is open every weekday. If you have a general enquiry, you can contact us via our online enquiries form

Your personal tutor will support you throughout your time at Newcastle. They can offer practical guidance on a wide range of academic and non-academic issues. You can also seek support from a student mentor; a fellow student on your degree who has been trained to support incoming students.
